Renault’s recently launched mini SUV, the 799cc Kwid at a base of Rs 2.57 lakh (ex showroom Delhi) became a tremendous success with over 25,000 bookings within months after the launch. In view of the grand success, the company was soon planning to launch in the first half of 2016, a sports version of the popular car called Kwid Racer with some cosmetic changes such as body decals, alloy wheels, new colours, new seat covers, etc targeting the younger generation. The manufacturer has not yet announced the introduction price of the Kwid Racer.
Renault Kwid Racer with more powerful 1-liter engine
According to company sources, the new Renault Kwid Racer will get a more powerful 1.0-litre engine with automatic transmission. The Kwid Racer was likely to get some facelifts such as sporty alloy wheels, attractive multi color graphics along with body kit, side and front skirts along with a racy diffuser could make it sportier.

The company was confident that with the launching of Kwid Racer, the manufacturer can increase sales many fold and capture the small-car segment.
The present Renault Kwid, launched in four variants such as Standard, RxE, RxL and RxT, is powered by a 799cc, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine producing a decent 54 Ps of power and 72 Nm of torque with the best-in-class mileage of 25.17 kmpl. It is a front wheel car.
With a decent ground clearance of 180 mm and a boot capacity of 300 liters, Kwid measures 3679mm in length, 1579mm in height and 1471mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2422mm.
So just wait for some more time to acquire a sports car at the price of a small passenger car.
